A Testing Time
Goodness!!! Another 3 months has passed since I last blogged!
I do try to keep up with everyones blogs even if I don't comment.
Summer (or what has passed for summer here) has been pretty busy
for me. I have done 3 short courses using watercolour and some
acrylics, mixed media and a bit of collage.
But mainly my time has been taken up with learning to drive.
I'm thrilled to tell you I passed my practical test 10 days ago!
The theory test I passed a couple of months back. So there is
another O.A.P. on the roads :) Love my little car, called Poppy.
I will try and update a bit more and show some things I have been
doing later.

Well goodness me. It has been 3 months since my last post!!!
I guess my life had been busy of late. Could do better :)
It has been so long I didn't know what to do to post a new page:)
My writing and photos don't seem to be working out as I would like
with gaps and new paragraphs where I want them. Any idea why anyone?
I have been doing some printing courses since my last post.
A 3 day one at Leeds Art College over Easter.
I am almost finished a weekly 2 hour course at another
college in the city. Two more weeks to go and then I go
on a 3 days course at www.jackbeck.co.uk with Judy Linnell.
The 2 prints here are monoprints.
The second one should appear first

The first is a ghost print of the main monoprint below...

It's been a long break!!!
Goodness!!! It has been a long time since I updated my blog!
Life just gets in the way sometimes I guess.
Here is another pastel portrait, done not so long ago.
The last couple of weeks I have been doing some watercolours,
not all together successfully, so far. Need to do a little more
work on them.I didn't realise just how many tubes of paint I had:)

More Daily Sketches
Another long gap between blog posts! I didn't realise it is nearly 2 weeks since my last one. I get caught up with checking other artists blogs, which usually takes me on to another blog, not to mention RL that gets in the way.
A few more pages from my Daily Sketch Book, where I am doing quick impressions of my chosen subject. It is getting to be harder to make myself do this every day!

Sketching Challenge
We are doing a Sketch a Day Challenge on Painting Friends Forum.
I'm not sure how long we will all last, but fingers crossed we
can continue for quite awhile. It should improve our drawing
and observational skills.
On day one I painted some of my sketchbook pages with a watercolour
wash. I thought it might get rid of the fear of blank white paper!!!
Even so I tried my first sketch on a spare piece of paper before
starting in my new sketchbook:-) So here are the first sketches.
I have replaced some of my photographs posted last month with new,
brighter ones. There are a few more I need to do at a later date. Hope
they look better.

Happy New Year! 2012
Well, we are in a new year. No resolutions for me this year!
It will just set me up for failure:) I do have some ideas though.
I have found a couple of interesting blogs.
One is a 75 day sketch challenge and the other a 30 day with many challenges!
Of course there is the usual promise to get back on the straight and narrow,
eating less and drinking a lot less! Less T.V. and less computer time.
My main aim is to be as creative as possible over the coming year.
The photographs show what I am up to right now. Doing art journal pages.
This is a texture sketchbook, using anything I can think of to make texture.
The front and back covers and the first two pages in the sketchbook.
These were done before while I was on a workshop. I will show my new pages
when the weather brightens up a bit. It is rainy and grey today.
